Debbie Fleitman, owner of KD Bridal Designs, has 42 years
of sewing experience. Her grandma first introduced
her to this craft when she was 10. Debbie spent many
hours at her grandma's house, and because there was no TV,
she spent those hours on the sewing machine and learning
to embroider dish towels. Through the years Debbie spent
countless hours making clothes, costumes, and drill team
outfits for her daughters, family, and friends.
In May 2005 Debbie retired after 29 years of teaching English.
With her new-found free time, she once again focused on
sewing. Her first ring bearer’s pillow was for her
daughter April’s wedding on July 2, 2005. She had
twin ring bearers, so it was twice the fun. She was then
asked by several family and friends to design their pillows
as well. Thus, the love of designing and creating was once
again revived, and KD Bridal Designs was formed.
With the help of daughters Katie, an interior designer
in Dallas, and April and her husband Richard, who were instrumental
in building the website, a new business emerged. Many thanks
go to them and her husband, chief financial advisor, for
their undying love and support in this new business venture.
